These lessons are a condensed version of the confirmation lessons presented to the participants of confirmation. Men’s Noon Bible Study
Pack your lunch and join us for a 12 week study on the Book of Acts. Contact Charlie Philipp to sign up or for more information.
Luke wrote the book of Acts as a testament to the explosive spread of the gospel and the rapid growth of the church after Christ’s ascension. Beginning with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost when the church was born, he shows how Christ empowered His followers with divine authority to preach the gospel to all nations. Luke also shows how, even in the midst of persecution and opposition, the early believers were able to rely on God’s spirit for direction and continue with the work He had given them to do. God showed His infinite power regardless of the circumstances, just as He continues to do today.
The MacArthur Bible Studies provide intriguing examinations of the whole of Scripture. Each guide incorporates extensive commentary, detailed observations on overriding themes, and probing questions to help you study the Word of God with guidance from John MacArthur.
Dates: Wednesdays at noon starting January 10, 2018
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Max Lucado's "Grace: More Than We Deserve"
We decided that our Spring Study will be on the Max Lucado book "Grace: More than we deserve -- Greater than we can imagine." When asked, do you believe in grace, who could say no? This book asks a deeper question. How have you been changed by grace? Shaped by grace? Strengthened by grace? Emboldened by grace? Snatched by the nape of your neck and shaken by grace? Grace is the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off.
There are 11 chapters and the conclusion, which could be 12 weeks to complete the study. Each chapter has Scripture review and 5 questions at the end there are also questions to be asked in class for discussion. The books will be $7 each. Dorothy Russi will handle ordering them.
Anyone interested in facilitating during this study is invited to meet at my house on Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. so we can set up our schedule.
Anyone interested can contact Delores Fenwick or Dorothy Russi, so we can have enough books. They can pay on the first night of class.
