God’s Mandate, Our Mission
The last words of Jesus to his disciples were a Biblical mandate for mission: Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All of the components of this campaign are a response to that mandate.
We began the MISSION:POSSIBLE Capital Campaign to fund the mission of connecting new people to the power of Christ, both through our new efforts in Manvel and our continued efforts in Pearland.
The buildings and property that was the former Grace United Methodist Church was given to FUMC Pearland by the Texas Annual Conference with the sole purpose of creating a new worship opportunity for families in the exponentially growing 288 corridor. Together with the Texas Annual Conference and the Path One Initiative, funds were committed to this new worship experience, now Redeemer Church.
With a huge launch on October 16, 2016, our Redeemer Campus is continually growing and exceeding expectations in both attendance and giving. Focusing on (but not exclusive to) families, Redeemer is now worshipping at two service times.
We have also taken on projects here in Pearland to help further our ministry. We have updated our electronic sign on 518 allowing us to modernize our look to the community and communicate regularly what God is doing at our Pearland Campus. We also updated the flooring in the Sanctuary and we anticipate beginning consrtuction to expand the Narthex soon after Easter. We were also able to retire the long standing debt of the Family Life Center and Children's Building allowing us to free up funds for future ministries.
As we continue MISSION:POSSIBLE, we pray that those at both campuses will realize the awesome work God is doing in Manvel and support our efforts with time, talent and treasure.
