Thanks Give-Away Day will take place on Saturday, November 21, between 9:00 am-1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 2314 N Grand Blvd. Pearland, TX 77581. Because of last year's overwhelming response for Thanksgiving baskets, we are limiting basket requests this year to participants via the Knapp Senior Center, Christian Helping Hands, or families residing within 20 miles of FUMC Pearland. Baskets are limited to 1 family per address; IDs with addresses will be checked upon arrival.
Please complete this form completely to request a "Thanks Give-Away" basket from First United Methodist Church Pearland. The deadline for this form is October 26 or UNTIL max applicants are met.

El Día de Acción de Gracias se llevará a cabo el sábado 21 de noviembre entre las 9:00 a. m. y la 1:00 p. m. a las: Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida, 2314 N Grand Blvd. Pearland, Texas 77581. Debido a la abrumadora respuesta del año pasado respecto a las cestas de Acción de Gracias, este año limitaremos las solicitudes a participantes del Knapp Senior Center, Christian Helping Hands o familias que residan en un radio de 20 millas de FUMC Pearland. Se limita la entrega a una cesta por domicilio; se verificarán las identificaciones con dirección al llegar.

Volunteer Opportunities
It's time for FUMC Pearland's annual "Thanks Give-Away Day" designed to provide holiday meals to our neighbors in need, and we need you to help make this event a success! Check out the event details and opportunities where you and your family can participate.
Client Pick-up:
Option 1: "Registered Pick-up" (9 am-11 am)
We will give away groceries to those that have signed up for "Thanks Give-Away" groceries from 9 am to 11 am - just as we have done in the years before!
Option 2: Waitlist Pick-up and Clean-up (11 am-1 pm)
After our initial amount of baskets we will have some that have not been picked up and some extra baskets we will plan for. During this time people that have signed up before hand may show up at 11 am to check in. We want to serve as many people as we can and want as many people as can to receive food. But, we can but cannot guarantee that you will receive a basket as part of the WAITLIST. Groceries will be available on a "first come, first serve" basis. Waitlist participants will receive a number upon check-in and will be served in the order you arrive.
We need lots of help setting up and manning shopping stations, collecting, sorting, organizing, and preparing the Thanks Give-Away bags for distribution on Saturday, November 21.
We also have several volunteer opportunities before the event, including:
Sunday, October 25, November 1, November 8 - Grocery list sign-ups in your Worship lobbies.
Sunday, November 15 - Unloading/delivering food in the MFC parking Lot.
Monday, November 16, & Tuesday, November 17, and Wednesday, November 18 - Food sorting, setting up stations, and putting baskets together.
Saturday, November 21 - Greet recipients, check in recipients, and hand out baskets
* Spanish-speaking volunteers are needed to assist some of our community guests through the shopping experience on Nov. 21st! Please check the option below if you are available to assist in this capacity!
