The Methodist Children's Program (MCP) is an extension of the educational ministry of First United Methodist Church Pearland.
MCP is a warm, caring environment for ages 12 months through Kindergarten. We offer Children’s Day Out for 1 to 3 year olds, Pre-Kindergarten for 4 year olds, and Kindergarten classes for 5 year olds. All classes are based on the child’s age by September 1st of the current year.
Children learn best through concrete oriented experiences. MCP has well-equipped classrooms with learning centers designed to help young children learn through discovery and child-initiated, child-directed, teacher-supported play. Teachers are supplied with an abundance of resources necessary to stimulate the learning process. Outdoor time is an integral part of the curriculum. Our playground provides the students with opportunities to develop gross motor skills and learn about the outdoors
All classes have a daily lesson with our Language Development teacher. They attend a weekly Music class, including an introduction to Spanish words through music. Spiritual development is enriched through a weekly Chapel class. Students in the 3 year-old, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classes also attend Computer Lab weekly.
To register or make further inquiries, please call 281.485.8721. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm MCP is closed mid-May through early September, although the office is usually open on Wednesdays during the summer.
