Lent at FUMC Pearland

The story of Jonah mirrors the life and mission of Jesus, with Jesus himself calling his mission the "sign of the prophet Jonah". Jonah was a disobedient, reluctant prophet, who experienced a miracle, but acquiesced to it rather than desiring it. Jesus is portrayed as the perfect, obedient, and greater "prophet" who willingly fulfilled the pattern set by Jonah. The season of Lent culminates in the fruition of God’s plan for the salvation of the world.

Join us this Lenten season as we prayerfully consider who we are, who God has created us to be, and just who God might be calling us to serve.
