It's time for FUMC Pearland's annual "Thanks Give-Away Day" designed to provide holiday meals to our neighbors in need, and we need you to help make this event a success! Check out the event details and opportunities where you and your family can participate.  

Like last year, the project has created a more engaging experience with those in our community receiving Thanksgiving groceries. Along with our traditional drive thru option, we will also offer "shopping stations" inside the MFC building for clients to hand select which items they need. 

 Client Options Include:

Option 1: "Stop and Go" (9am – 11am)

Families that choose not to come inside to shop will still be offered curb-side "Thanks Give-Away" groceries from 9 am to 11 am - just as we have done in the years before! 

 Option 2: "Shop and Play" (11am – 1p)

With our assistance, families will come inside and fill their own "Thanks Give-Away" baskets. We will have complimentary beverages and snacks, activities and gift bags for the kids. Best of all - they get to choose what goes into their complimentary "Thanks Give-Away" baskets from various stations set up inside our MFC building. More surprises to come!

 We need lots of help setting up and manning shopping stations, collecting, sorting, organizing and preparing the Thanks Give-Away bags for distribution on Saturday, November 22nd.

 We also have several volunteer opportunities before the event, including:

 Sundays 10/26, 11/2, 11/9 - handing out grocery lists to the congregation.

Sunday, 11/16- Unloading/ delivering food in the MFC parking Lot.

Monday, 11/17 & Tuesday, 11/18 - Food sorting, setting up stations and putting baskets together.

Wednesday, 11/19 and Thursday, 11/20 - random projects for setup.

Saturday, 11/23- Greet recipients, assist shoppers, deliver baskets

 Volunteers may also help shop for food items ahead of the main event the week of 11/16.

 *Spanish Speaking Volunteers are needed to assist some of our community guests through the shopping experience on Nov. 22nd!
